Job Title: One-on-One Special Education Aide
Job Type: Monday through Thursday, 7.5 hours per day or (Part-Time with the potential to be full-time)

Reports To: Special Education Teacher/Case Manager
Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated One-on-One Special Education Aide to support high-needs students with behavioral issues, specifically characterized by anxiety and avoidance behaviors. The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic, and skilled in implementing individualized strategies to promote the student's emotional, social, and academic development. This is a fluid position based on student needs and may change.
Key Responsibilities:
? Collaborate closely with the special education teacher, certified teachers, other staff, and support staff to monitor progress and adapt strategies as needed.
? Assist special education and classroom teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPS).
? Provide individualized support to the student throughout the school day, including classroom activities, transitions, and social interactions.
? Provide direct support during classroom activities, ensuring participation and engagement.
? Implement behavioral interventions and strategies outlined in Individualized Education Plans (IEP).
? Assist the student in managing anxiety and avoidance behaviors by creating a safe and supportive environment.
? Foster positive relationships with the student to build trust and encourage engagement in academic and social activities.
? Document and communicate observations of the student’s behavior, progress, and any challenges encountered to the educational team.
? Assist in facilitating social skills development and peer interactions.
? Support the student in developing self-regulation techniques and coping strategies.
? Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to special education and behavioral support.
? Transportation between the student's home and school
? Qualifications:
? High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in special needs, is strongly preferred.
? Knowledge of behavioral management techniques and strategies for supporting students with anxiety.
? Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with students and foster a positive learning environment.
? Excellent communication skills to collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff.
? Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
? Commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity in the classroom. Physical Requirements:
? Ability to lift and assist students as needed.
? Capability to remain on your feet for extended periods and manage physical demands related to supporting students.
